Crystal Lake Mysis
(Frozen)

Crystal Lake Mysis is a Sub-Arctic freshwater zooplankton harvested from the mountain lakes of Canada. Its habitat exceeds 100 meters deep where water temperature is usually under 10 degrees C. Such conditions produce zooplankton rich in essential fatty acids. These organisms should not be confused with krill which is found off the Canadian coast. Crystal Lake Mysis is sometimes referred to as Plankton and is a non-tropical decapod.

This is the perfect maturation diet to supplement or replace expensive bloodworms (polychaets) at a lower cost. High lipid content with long chain fatty acids rich in EPA and DHA, to help condition and stimulate spawning of most broodstock animals. Mysis is a natural product enriched by the foodchain of pristine lakes from which they are harvested. No artificial enrichment is performed on this product, yet fatty acid profiles for EPA and DHA are higher than commercially available enriched Artemia biomass. It also has 3-4 times the HUFA as compared to Euphasia Pacifica or enriched Artemia.  Unlike Artemia biomass, there is little waste using Crystal Lake Mysis since the density of Mysis is greater than that of Artemia. This means feeding can be accomplished during water exchange or under recirculation conditions.

Crystal Lake Mysis has been certified by PCR to be free of White Spot Syndrome Virus and Yellow Head Virus.
